Clothing
Traditional Acadian clothing comes from France. Acadian men used to wear vests, jackets, and woollen caps. Women wore broad-brimmed caps, blouses and skirts. When it was muddy, people wore wooden shoes called sabots.
Music
Acadians are well known for their toe tapping music. People in Meteghan love to sing and play music. The fiddle and accordion are popular musical instruments. People also play the wooden spoons.
Dance
A traditional Acadian dance is called clogging, which is a battering movement of the feet, that has come to be known as step dancing.
Art
Many famous artists are Acadian. Some of their artwork is about the past and some of it is about life today.
